CARE INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT KIND OF SEED TO USE FOR PLANTING
Use only organic seed. The seed used for planting is called "hard winter wheat." Look for these companies in your health food store:

• Deaf Smith
• Erewhon
• Arrowhead

According to Dr. Earp-Thomas, 15 pounds of fresh wheatgrass is equivalent in nutritional value to 350 pounds of the choicest vegetables

DO'S
• Wheatgrass must be watered (Not sprayed) so soil is always moist, (Not Wet) on a daily basis if required.

• To ensure you have given your Wheatgrass tray enough water you can test by pulling the side of tray away from the soil and feeling with your fingers.

• Keep Wheatgrass trays in a cool area. Trays will last up to 7 days at maximum height in cool room. If cool room is not available we suggest you order staggered sized trays and use them for display while they grow. Note some shopping centres turn off air conditioning over night, causing excess heat which will cause mould in trays. You may notice white mould from time to time during the summer months this is no cause for alarm.

Although the health department does not stipulate washing wheatgrass prior to juicing, Wheatgrass Co recommends wheatgrass is washed before juiced. This can be done by storing cut grass in a container of water prior to juicing, this will also help with time efficiency when shop is busy.

DONT'S

• Wheatgrass trays should not be left in direct sunlight for long periods of time. * Never let soil get dry.

• Wheatgrass trays should not be used if the wheatgrass is yellow, causes of yellowing are: not enough water, dry soil, not enough light, over watering and if it is past its use by date, (too long)! A long tray left out of the fridge will last approximately 3 days.
